Foreclosures and Abandoned Pets

It is a sad sign of the times - more homes are being foreclosed on, and more family pets are being abandoned or given to shelters. Click on the link below to read more:

Happy Earth Day!
We cats are always ready for a big celebration on Earth Day. Even though some of us prefer the indoors to the outdoors, we still enjoy nature. I (Pumpkin) definitely prefer to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of Mother's bedroom window. I am a very civilized cat - I don't DO outside. My fur gets all ratty and dirty outside - what a bother for a beautiful long-haired cat like me. Of course, that loser Frankie loves being outside. What a mess he is: full of cobwebs, dirt smudges, sticky seeds, and who knows what else. He looks like he has gone feral most of the time.Anyway, I digress. Earth Day is a wonderful day to celebrate nature. And...yawn!...it is perfectly natural for me to take a short "cat nap" right now. I going to lay right here - on the window sill- in this lovely warm golden pool of sunlight!

Dogs in the News

I peeked over Mother's shoulder while she was reading her email. Of course, she doesn't know that I read. Cats are smarter than people think! Anyway, back to the Big News: dogs are becoming the new generation of "kids" for a lot of Americans. According to the news article (a book review), in San Francisco, there are more pet dogs than children. Really, what is wrong with people -- that statement should read: there are more cats who have people than children. But that's the kind of "news" item one would expect to find in a newsletter called "The Woof Report." Check it out yourself.
PS This pet portrait can be found in the Woof Report Newsletter at the following link:

We've Gone Green!
We would like our friends to know that we have gone green! Please check our Greenopolis badge at the bottom of this page. We kitties at Feline Heights are so happy that humans are finally catching on to what we cats, in our great wisdom, have known for eons. We must all join together to protect our planet earth and all its wonderful natural resources and creatures. We think that there is hope for you humans after all. Really, you should try eating grass sometime - the taste is fresh and clean, and it is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Of course, sometimes there is an unpleasant side effect, so please keep a paper bag handy. Nothing's purrfect - except cats!Image Information

Posting Fun and Useful Gadgets

| ||
The cats are napping, so I get to post a blog. I added a few new gadgets to the site while I had the luxury of some unstructured time on my hands. Hopefully these gadgets will enhance the appeal of Feline Heights. Oops...I hope the kitties don't read that...they think that they are enhancement enough! I'm Gail, one of the humans who live here.
