Happy New Year!

Finally we cats got the laptop! Our human's daughter, who hogs the computer, is away at a New Year's Eve party. Our human is away too! Now we can finally post to our blog. Our most recent news is that we moved to a new home. That has been very exciting! We pretty much have our new territory staked out. How did we do it? Don't ask - it's much too complicated for your poor human mind (of course, we are assuming that you are human).Iris is scoring free meals from an unsuspecting neighbor with her "poor stray kitty" act. PumpKing really likes the new window sills. They are much wider than the sills at the old house.Frankie stayed in the old neighborhood. He said, " I'm too old to move." So, he moved in with our old next door neighbor. I think he likes the fact that he is the only cat and doesn't have to share any attention with other felines. I'm Callie, by the way. My daughter is Pie, and my son is PumpKing. Iris was here before us and is kind of stand-offish with us. All well, her loss! Anyway all of us felines here at Feline Heights (still the old name) wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Happy Earth Day!

We cats are always ready for a big celebration on Earth Day. Even though some of us prefer the indoors to the outdoors, we still enjoy nature. I (Pumpkin) definitely prefer to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of Mother's bedroom window. I am a very civilized cat - I don't DO outside. My fur gets all ratty and dirty outside - what a bother for a beautiful long-haired cat like me. Of course, that loser Frankie loves being outside. What a mess he is: full of cobwebs, dirt smudges, sticky seeds, and who knows what else. He looks like he has gone feral most of the time.

Anyway, I digress. Earth Day is a wonderful day to celebrate nature. And...yawn!...it is perfectly natural for me to take a short "cat nap" right now. I going to lay right here - on the window sill- in this lovely warm golden pool of sunlight!

New Cafepress Shopping Experience

The residents of Feline Heights are happy to promote a new Cafepress® store called Gail Alexander's. She is one of the humans here, and an artist. We cats have a special fondness for artists! Many artists have been inspired by their feline companions. Is it our grace, our beauty, our intelligence--it is probably a combination of all three! Anyway back to the new store. The merchandise features Good Boy, Coach© art by Gail Alexander. Here is the link: http://www.cafepress.com/gailalexander. Happy shopping! The more you spend, the more cat treats we get!!! Meeow!!!

PumKing the Angora Art Lover

Mew, my name is PumKing. My human named me Pumpkin because of my beautiful rich orange fur. Cute, for a kitten. But I am all grown up now. I was born here in Feline Heights, but my mother and father are from the great state of Georgia. Since I am obviously of royal Angora lineage I changed my name to PumKing.

Like my human, I am very much interested in the Arts. So, at my bidding, Madame Gail will be including art about cats. That should add some class to this rather lowly blog. It is my great pleasure to promote the arts here at Feline Heights. A little "Comment Love" would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Feline Heights

This is a blog by cats, for cats, and about cats.

Feline Heights is a small town run by cats. Cats prowl, scowl, and yowl as they please. Humans live here too of course. Someone has to work and see to our feline needs. Even dogs are allowed for species diversity. Other creatures come and go at their own risk.

Time for a catnap...will be continued.
